Popular Sovereignty
Popular sovereignty is according to 8th Grade U.S.History textbook,"...the idea that political authority belongs to the people." Also, Americans believed that sovereignty should be in their nation, and be controlled by the people. The Americans also boldly expressed popular sovereignty in the Constitution that they sent to the King.
